How is the traffic driving from Sacramento to San Francisco on New Years Eve at around 2 or 3pm?
I am leaving Sacramento around 2 or 3 pm on New Years Eve. I know traffic in San Francisco in general is bad, but I am asking about this exact time specifically. If anyone knows from experience, thats even better. I am hoping to miss the rush that will come later in the evening.
Thank you!
Traffic gets pretty backed up in certain areas in Sacramento(basically anywhere people have to merge onto the freeway) on the way to SF. My guess is there will be a lot of slow spots, but overall it should not be too bad. If you can you should really try to leave an hour earlier 1PM if you leave at 3PM you will be stuck in a lot of traffic. Good Luck and drive safe :}
How do I make most profit with my high traffic website?
How do I make the most profit of my website which has very high traffic?
Well, not that I would agree with it, but the numbers would say put porn on it.
How can I use blogging to increase traffic on my website?
I need specific instructions on how to link my blog effectively. Should my blog be based on my website, or can I add to blogs on related sites? I am pretty lost right now, I basically need a blogging tour guide for dummies
If your blog covers subject areas that are complementary to your website, then it is better to have it on your website so that the whole site can benefit from the additional inbound links and traffic that the blog will generate.
[comment: If you do put it on your site, then remember to have it as a folder ie. www.yoursite.com/blog/ rather than a subdomain ie. blog.yoursite.com because Search Engines treat subdomains as separate domains and so you lose the onsite advantage.]
If you would like a Blogging Starter Guide, then you might like to try a free ecourse that I offer on Business blogging which gets sent out by email. You'll find it at http://www.betterbusinessblogging.com/free-business-blogging-course/
It will deal with the questions and issues that you are facing and hoipefully point you in the right direction.
Explode Your Website Traffic and Gain a Truckload of Visitors To Your Website!
Many people these days are looking to explode their website traffic. They ask the ultimate question, can it be done? The answer is yes it can.
But, before we cover the how and why’s, lets cover why most people quit after some time when trying to gain traffic. The number one reason why most people quit is because they were expecting things to happen overnight.
Oh yes, we have all seen the ads. Get thousands of visitors overnight to your website, and for the most part some of those ads are true. However, what you don’t know is that most of it is not targeted or real people.
Stay away from fast solutions because they do not work. Instead understand that things take time. Just as an athlete prepares for a season you need to prepare for traffic. Sure there are some great sports players who make it all look easy, but it took them many years to get where they are now.
You need to understand this if you want to succeed in getting traffic to your website. If you are looking for a quick fix then just walk away now because most of the time it does not happen. You see anything can take time and if you are willing to take the time and do a little work along the way you to can get traffic to your website and lots of it.
You also have to be smart about it. By that I mean you need a plan, something you can follow everyday to make things happen. Once you start to work your plan it will build upon it’s self and compound over time. What you want to happen is a viral traffic pattern that will deliver traffic to your website for years to come. What you want is to cover every section of the net where your target market is.
So many people just jump at many ways to get traffic at once, and then they walk away frustrated and fed up. But by understanding that things need to be done in a certain order you will have a much better chance. Now if your time is limited, then you may not see results for a year or more. Yes, it could be less but count on more and you will not get as frustrated.
So, how do you gain traffic and how do you do it for free? Well listen, there are things that have worked for the last six years and are still working today. The thing you have to do is study what works.
Pick one or two things and study them in depth. You need to understand it before you can move on. So, make sure you take the time to learn the first thing you pick.
Below I list the ways that work best today and in the order you should perform them. Once you see them go to a search engine and start to study them. Remember there is much more to this than you will find on the first page of search results.
So what are the ways?
1. Writing articles. Success with articles comes from understanding how to write killer headlines and very informative articles. Articles should never be an ad. You have to remember the internet is the information super highway and that is what people are looking for. So above all try to help people and they will trust you more.
2. Link exchanges and one way links. Exchanging links with other websites can bring you more traffic if done correctly. Remember to always keep it relevant and in line with your business. That way you can please the search engines. Also keep in mind that the search engines are placing less importance on reciprocal links now. So, read all you can about what they are up to. But remember you can gain lots of new traffic this way.
3. Viral strategies. While the two ways listed above can be viral, there are many other ways to gain visitors with viral marketing. Once such way is to prepare a special report and encourage people to pass it on to others.
So in summary, each one of these ways can unlock your stale website and get traffic moving to your site. Just make sure you pick one to start with and study it until you become the expert on it. Learn everything about it. That you can and you will unleash a load of new visitors to your website over time.

Make Full Use of Your Website Traffic
In the internet world today, E-commerce sites have become one of the most competitive markets around. Every time you turn around there are thousands more webmasters that are looking to do the same thing, create a profitable E-commerce site. The competitive nature of the internet has made it necessary for a webmaster to take advantage of every method and scheme available to increase their sales.
It is no secrete that many webmasters are in the business to make a profit. Seriously, no one is going to put forth the amount of effort and time needed to make a successful website, if it was simply for fun. Webmasters want to see profits coming in; they simply do not have the time nor want to wait to see the money rolling through.
Traffic is the lifeblood of any internet business, without it, the business simply would not exist. It is just how the chain works, traffic produces customers, and customers produce sales. Therefore, thanks to the power of deduction, without traffic there would not be sales. When you have traffic to your website, for each person that visits your website that means one more potential customer for you. The more potential customers you get the more power you have to turn these into satisfied customers.
Nobody produces an e-commerce website without the intentions of selling a produce and earning some profit at the same time. You invest money into the website; therefore, you must earn this money back through sales. If you have steady traffic, you will be giving yourself the opportunity to do just that.
Turning Traffic into Profit
The most popular, time tested method of turning traffic into profit is by advertisement. Because the internet has evolved to this giant, vast expanse, it easily generates millions of traffic on a daily basis. Each person that logs onto the internet at any given moment is likely searching for something they want or need. This means that literally thousands if not millions could be looking for your specific product; you just have to lure them to it.
While the world is a very large area, the internet makes selling from country to country so much easier. A perfect example of this, if you are located in Istanbul and are advertising your product, it is easier than ever to locate a buyer located within Nebraska.
There is nothing about traffic generation that is easy. You will have the privilege of competing against a large number of websites to gain the traffic you need. If you work in a successful manner, you will open a great deal of positive possibility for yourself and your business.
Essentially, the more traffic your website gets, the more desirable your product and company becomes. This means that the traffic that you have coming into yourself can easily become converted into profit. As stated earlier, traffic become customers, customers equal profit. The key to all of this is advertisement. If you have a good and solid advertisement campaign, you will have to ability to turn you traffic into profit.
There are many ways to direct your traffic into buyers. First, is as stated many times in this article, that still bears repeating. Traffic = Customers = Profit. The better the advertising campaign, the more likely they are to buy your product. You could also take this traffic and redirect them onto sponsored links. These sponsored links are willing to pay you for the traffic.
This is better known as pay-per-click. Each time one of your website visitors clicks on these links, you are paid. Again, the more traffic generated to your website, the more potential click, and the more potential profits.
Making use of Affiliate Programs
Affiliate programs have become an extremely popular method of generating profit from your traffic there are many ways to go about it, one way is to sign up with another website(s) that are popular and turn your traffic into profit by gaining a percentage of each sale from your traffic.
Essentially, your own traffic will visit another website that offers different products from your own. The affiliate program will likely make use of a specific program to document and calculate moneys earned from your generated traffic.
Each time a purchase is made by a customer from your website, you get a portion of the money from that sale. This is beneficial to those webmasters that do not have products or those products in particular for sale.
The methods of turning your traffic into profit are aplenty. You simply need the desire to succeed, the ability to put time and effort into creating a profitable website. The real task is choosing the method(s) you want to implement into your own profit making scheme.

Testing and Fine Turning Your Web Traffic
Getting visitors to come to your Internet site is the fuel for success of your home business online marketing promotion. You can build the greatest home business Internet site but if its marketing and promotion doesn’t bring users to the site it’s no good. Once those visitors are coming to your site your tracking software can let you know which pages they view and for how long and what brings them to the site and what page they are on when they exit the site. All this information helps you improve your site and the online sales process for your home business Internet marketing and promotion.
Your online marketing and promotion plan for your Internet home business should include the following goals:
* To get instant low cost traffic to your site so that these users can let you know if your Web sales copy works, if the order form is right, if the navigation is easy and if the opt-in e-mail offer is productive.
* To test whether the sales process you have set up online does the optimal job of converting your home Internet business - Web traffic into the greatest number of sales.
* To bring the greatest number of consumers to your Web site in the least amount of time.
* And to assure that putting your Web traffic marketing and promotion campaign on autopilot successfully grows your Internet home business.
When it comes to testing your Internet site prior to home business online marketing promotion a lot of entrepreneurs don’t know how to test and what to test. The basics that you need to look at are the ordering process, the sales copy, the opt-in e-mail offer and the navigation of the site. The ordering process must be designed with the assumption that the consumer who buys from you has never done so online before. Make it so easy to navigate that the Web novice won’t give up in frustration.
When looking at the sales copy on your site you want to pay close attention to how captivating your headlines are, how clear and influential the benefits are spelled out, that the guarantee is prominent and clear and that there is a strong call to action.
The opt-in offer must be prominent and inviting. If you are getting the contact information from the consumer you know it’s working.
The most important thing to look at when testing your site’s navigation is to make sure that someone who wants to buy your product or service online can do it in two easy clicks. More than that and you start to lose the interest of this instant-gratification audience - especially if your market is under 35 years of age.

The 3 Best Website Traffic Sources
Copyright 2005 Jim Edwards
Not a day goes by that any serious website owner doesn’t wonder
how to get more traffic to their site.
This intense desire to generate more clicks makes virtually any
online entrepreneur easy prey to many of the traffic schemes and
scams that pervade the Internet like conmen on a carnival
midway.
Promises of fast traffic and big bucks often separate even the
most savvy business person from their money because they want to
believe the promises made by these traffic hucksters.
However, rather than thinking “complicated equals better” in the
traffic game, the best website traffic sources rate extremely
easy to separate from the useless garbage traffic.
Fact: “Good Traffic” equals “Targeted Traffic!”
That means the visitors come as a result of desire to find out
more on a specific, niche topic, not as a result of “exit”
traffic or membership in a “safe” list where members simply
pitch each other in an incestuous spam fest.
Good traffic comes from people clicking links on topics targeted
to their interests and getting directed to a website containing
information they want and expect as a result of clicking the
link.
Bottom line, when you get right down to it, the best, most
dependable sources of targeted traffic come from links that
people click.
So, next time you’re considering spending money on a traffic
source, understand that unless it involves a targeted link that
a targeted visitor can click to get to your website, think twice
before opening up your wallet.
To my knowledge, only three ways exist to get a link to your
site: buy it, “voodoo” it, or grow it.
** Buy Links**
Buying links actually rates the fastest way to get traffic to
your website.
You simply sign up for Google AdWords at Google.com or you open
an account with Overture.com.
You then run ads with a link on those sites and any time someone
clicks the link, you pay for the click through a relatively
straightforward bidding process based on the popularity of the
keyword.
You can also buy links in ezines, newsletters, and on other
people’s website either on a per-click basis, for a period of
time (a week or month), or in exchange for paying them a
commission if a sale gets made as a result of a click on the
link.
** Linking “VoodDoo” **
Linking “voodoo” refers to attempting to manipulate the search
engines into displaying links to your website.
You can find a large number of automated software programs
online at any given time that will claim to help you get more
search engine traffic.
Depending on the intensity of competition in a specific market
and the fact that search engines change their rules frequently,
pursuing search engine links this way can quickly turn into the
online equivalent of Alice chasing the rabbit down the hole.
** Grow Links **
I personally prefer this method to get links to my websites:
growing them.
The best type of link to get involves one person telling another
person, either explicitly or implicitly, they should click the
link and visit the site at the other end.
One way to do this is simply to exchange links with another site
which targets the same audience as your site.
You can manage this process manually or use one of the many
software packages that will mange the process for you.
A search on Google.com for “reciprocal link manager software”
yields a good start.
The easiest way to grow a link is through using articles other
people post on their websites which link back to your website.
The reason articles work so well for “growing” links involves
the numerous ways in which articles get distributed online, each
of which can create dozens, hundreds, even thousands of
different links back to your website by publishing a single
article.
In fact, the following represent only the tip of the iceberg
when it comes to all the places you can grow links by publishing
articles online.
~ Blogs - Your articles can not only appear on your own blog,
but get posted by others on their blogs with surprising ease.
The links in these articles can point directly back to your
website.
~ Article Directories - Article directories such as
IdeaMarketers.com abound online.
They not only provide an easy way to display your articles to
allow others to pick them up for posting on their websites, but
also in and of themselves attract readers searching for content.
~ OPS (Other People’s Sites) - Popular websites like
WebProNews.com attract repeat visitors by offering targeted
content to their readers.
Since they can’t produce all the content themselves, they
publish articles created by others. Links from these sites can
bring a steady stream of targeted visitors by giving you
targeted exposure.
~ Ezines - By getting your articles published in other people’s
ezines, you can get a link on the most valuable real estate
online, a targeted prospect’s email “inbox.”
Many ezine publishers run articles written by others to their
targeted readers, and your link in the resource box can bring
you a veritable avalanche of targeted site visitors when
hundreds, even thousands of people receive your article at the
same time.
Whether you choose to buy them, “voodoo” them, or grow them,
getting targeted links to your site posted on the Internet
represents the absolute best way to get steady traffic to your
site.
Though not as fast as buying them or as exciting as trying to
manipulate the search engines, growing links with articles gives
you a long-term, dependable presence online.
