Ways to Drive Traffic to your Website
How can I drive traffic to my website?
With all of the information that you can find on the Internet, the most commonly asked question is, “How can I drive traffic to my website?” And the answer isn’t always as clear as it seems. But if you want one simple tip that’s guaranteed to increase your overall traffic, read on.
What do you like to read?
If you stop to consider the websites that have been helpful to you, they’re probably sites that have contained the information that you’ve needed and not just a bunch of keywords. When a website tries to speak to the customer’s needs instead of just the needs of the search engine, it will become more popular - even if it’s not ranked on the first page of Google for the search.
But what if you’re not a great writer?
Even if you’re in business, you may not have the skills to write your own website articles in a way that’s professional and yet, interesting. So if your main question is, “How can I drive traffic to my website?” you need to start looking for help. But that’s where the Internet can help you bring the customers in.
Sites of willing writers
Needless to say, there are plenty of websites that have writers with website article experience. They know how to write an informative, interesting, and keyword driven (if you’d like) articles that will be engaging to a customer as well as helpful. Sites like www.Elance.com and www.Guru.com are both excellent areas in which you can find skilled writers that can help create the content that your business needs and your customers deserve.
How do you do it?
Simply go to any writer job board site and place a listing of the articles or pages that you might need. You’ll want to include an exciting title that clearly states what your goals are - Help! I need to drive traffic to my website, for example - and how much money you are willing to spend on the writer. A number of writers will then contact you with portfolios of past work and how much they would charge for the work.
It’s up to you to choose a writer that can both work in your time frame as well as give you the website content that you’re looking for. But once you choose a writer, you can go back to that person for additional content without having to post jobs over and over.
Working with a writer
When I want to drive traffic to my website, I try to let the writer know everything that I can about the project and my business. I want them to write articles that are true and best represent my intentions for the customers that come to the site. It can help to have the writer write a sample article to see if there needs to be changes in tone or style, but after that, you just need to work together to create a fantastic site.
Writing is one of the keys to making a difference in your business website. I personally use articles to drive traffic to my website, which greatly increases sales and profits.

what is the best ways to drive traffic to your website?
I don’t particularly believe there is one BEST way to drive traffic to your site. First of all, your site needs to have a product/service or some information that there is a demand for.
Next is content. If you provide relevant, high quality content for your site that is specific to that product or service, you are on your way.
Once your site is looking good, content wise, design wise and navigation wise, you might be ready to do some Traffic Driving.
Choosing Your Strategy.
1) Take one technique at a time.
2) Learn how to use that technique to drive traffic to your site.
3) Next. If possible, outsource it so it keep s working and you can free up time to go onto the next technique.
4) Go to the next technique and repeat steps 1, 2 and 3.
My personal favourite way to drive traffic to your website is Ezine Marketing. There are thousands of ezines out there with readerships that are already interested and subscribed to a publication that matches what you sell.
If you find the ezines that match what you offer, you can advertise surprisingly cheaply there and drive not only traffic but actual buyers to your site if you know what you are doing.
It’s not the only way to market, but it has been around the longest and it works. I’m not going to say it’s even the best.
The best way is the way that works for you and makes you sales.
good luck.

From every angle there is. SEO, Great Copy, Articles, Youtube, Twitter, Off line advertising, T-shirts with your site on it, commenting on blogs, PPC, everything.
The REAL question should be , how do I convert visitors into buyers.
Think: If you had 35,000 unique visitors and no one bought as opposed to 3000 visitors that all spent $50.00 ….. well you get the picture.

You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.
If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com’s "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day." http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm
4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Read the article " How To Sell More on the Web: 30 Tips To Increase Conversion Rates For An Ecommerce Site " http://www.powerhomebiz.com/092006/ecommerce.htm for tips on how to improve your conversion rates.

Craigslist http://www.craigslist.com
Google Base http://base.google.com

one way isn’t better than another you can optimise your site but only gain hits which is not the same as having a sign up, so that’s where blogging, forums and networking all come into play as you need to promote your site, look at it like this, for instance you can have the best shop ever but it’s no good if you have no customers is it ? so how would you get them into your shop well you’d promote it, that’s what networking is for. Leaving your link about the net like a flyer!

I don’t know about "driving" traffic. If you have a good site with content that interests your visitors, then it just grows organically. If you keep on working to improve it the traffic MUST increase. Have a look at http://www.ds32.com for info/ideas. (non-profit making site, just done for the fun of it and to drive visitors to it!))
